FACEBOOK MARKETING STRATEGY (PART 2 OF 3)

If you are a SERIOUS business woman and you are SERIOUS about making money in your business, you need to be marketing on Facebook. Facebook is a busy place so basically, placing a Facebook ad is about breaking through some of the noise on Facebook.

Again, since I’ve started placing inexpensive ads on Facebook, my mailing list has grown – TREMENDOUSLY. And for those of you who may not know this – your mailing list is the CRITICAL to the success of your business, regardless of the type of business you own.

So there are 3 points or steps to focus on with a Facebook ad:

1. You must laser target your ad to YOUR potential customers and clients. The Facebook Ads Manager allows you to target:

a. People who liked your Facebook page. b. People who have not liked your page but they are friends with people who have liked your page. c. People on your mailing list (you can upload an Excel record of your mailing list emails) d. People who are similar to your mailing list. e. People in a certain income level, country, gender.

2. Once you zeroed in on your target, Facebook allows you to select:

a. How much you want to spend (minimum is $5) b. How many days you want the ad to run; a higher amount over a shorter period of time will give you a bang for your buck through increased visitors to your website. Slow and steady - lower amount over a longer period of time will give you less of a bang but a bang nonetheless.

You must grab people’s attention and to grab their attention, you must give them something free or greatly discounted and it must be something YOUR target market wants and will consider valuable. Here are some suggestions for what you can give them: c. A PDF cheat sheet or checklist d. A giveaway e. A discount (needs to be 20% or more) And your ad must convert (make them click through to your website), your ad must: f. Include a highly emotional picture g. Must be colorful h. Must be within Facebook’s guidelines that the picture cannot contain more than 20% of words. You can learn more by visiting the Ads Manager link on your business page.
